The Lord My Rock

When I read “The Lord surrounds His people, both now and forevermore.” Psalm 125:2, I believe that, but I’m not sure I take it in. I’m not sure I let it change me.

Lord, how would things change if I really believed Your promises with more than a mental assent, an intellectual agreement?

  • Would I sleep better?
  • Would I be discouraged less often?
  • Would I be bolder?
  • Would I have greater peace?
  • Would I be more generous? More diligent?
  • Would I rest in You?
  • Would I stop trying to do everything in my own strength?

He is Jehovah Tsuri – the Lord, my Rock. Unchanging. Immovable. My foundation. My refuge. My fortress.

You surround Your people. Now, In the moment. Not temporarily. You won’t leave us or abandon us. You surround us forevermore.

Me. You surround me.

I can run to You. I’m safe with You.
