There’s a song in our hymnbook.
Spirit of the living God fall afresh on me
Break me, melt me, mould me, fill me
We rarely pray that.
We often pray in our brokenness, but we hardly ever ask God to do it.
Maybe we should.
Break my pride.
Break my rebellion.
Break my heart for those around me who need to know Jesus.
Break my tendency to rush through life never seeing those who hurt.
Break my complacency, especially with my own sin.
It’s a bold prayer.
A scary one, even.
But it’s a prayer He’ll answer.
