For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6
Imagine being the enemy of the most powerful king to ever rule.
A king so mighty, so awesome, so fearful that the sun, moon, and stars themselves flee from His wrath.
A king who destroys opposing armies with only a spoken word.
It’s not just imagination.
It is real.
In the Garden, rather than enjoy fellowship with God, we chose enmity.
God, however, chose peace.
Jesus Christ, through His death, offers us peace with the King of Heaven and Earth.
He is the Prince of Peace, the one who brings peace, the one who makes peace possible.
It is the Prince of peace who delivers us from the curse, by the cross, to the consummation.
Merry Christmas indeed!
