There is a place of quiet rest,
Near to the heart of God;
A place where sin cannot molest,
Near to the heart of God.
There is a place of comfort sweet,
Near to the heart of God;
A place where we our Savior meet,
Near to the heart of God. [Chorus]
There is a place of full release,
Near to the heart of God;
A place where all is joy and peace,
Near to the heart of God. [Chorus]
Chorus:
O Jesus, blest Redeemer,
Sent from the heart of God,
Hold us who wait before Thee
Near to the heart of God.

(A place of full release. Release of what exactly? Burdens, worries, doubts, fears come to mind immediately. But we must also include things like the debt we can never repay, and the sentence our sin requires. Full release. Remember Christ didn’t die to make us happy, but holy and that begins with dealing with our sins. May we grasp we have been released from that awful debt and the sentence on us.)
